This book is brilliantly written, i could not put it down and flew through it. This is a story about madame Burova (imelda) who has spent her life as a tarot reader, palmist and clairvoyant, following in her mother shunty-mae's romany gypsy footsteps. As well as doing readings in her booth on the promenade at Brighton she also starts doing readings at Larkins, the local holiday park where she meets a variety of different entertainers, some of whom become friends. She is used to hearing everyones secrets and wishes and most are easy to keep but there is one secret that she has been told not to fully divulge. She has been asked to keep this particular secret and only tell certain parts of it when the time comes. That time comes when she has decided to retire and Billie enters her life. This new chapter brings the past back into focus, the good, the bad and of course the secrets.
