I love anything to do with tarot and palm reading, so this book instantly attracted me. Each chapter flips between 1973 and the current day which can sometimes confuse me and put me off a book however Madame Burova was written brilliantly. It was easy to understand and follow, yet be intrigued by the past and future.

The character of Madame Burova is wonderful. She is bright, helpful and very kind and I loved her from the start. I did love the majority of the characters, especially MI5 Clive - I think he holds a special place in my heart. As I followed the ups and downs of Madame Burovas early life working as a tarot reader on a promenade and in holiday home place. To following Billies story of her finding her birth parents, I was quite gripped by the plot and I found myself coming up with a lot of different theories. In the end I thought it was a little predictable, but I enjoyed the journey anyway.

Madame Burova is a tale about heartbreak, friendships and secrets. I would love to learn more about her life after Cillian and Larkins, as I'm sure she lived an interesting life!
