The story flips from the 70s and present day and is layered up with little stories of smaller characters in the book.
Madame burova has a stall on Brighton seafront that has been in the family for years. She spends her days hearing peoples questions, concerns and even secrets.
In the present a woman named billie finds out that she was adopted after her mum and dad pass away.
Madame burova has some answers for her but not all of them, but nether the less is able to help her along with other friends that were around at the same that was billie was found as a newborn dumped outside Imelda’s stall on the seafront.
This book also covers over topics with smaller stories woven in about racism and sexual harassment of the workplace.
This story is beautiful written and easy to read. The characters are are very well liked even if they have flaws.
