I really enjoyed this gentle mystery. The combined and linked stories of Billie and Imelda kept me wondering to the end. I loved the period details of the holiday camp in 1973, the quirky characters and their stories. I loved the romance of the relationships and the details of Imelda's world as a fortune teller on the pier.

The story is light and easy reading, broken into short chapters, making for a perfect relaxing read before bed. The ending answers all the questions and ties up the ends in a mixture of satisfyingly predictable and equally satisfying unpredictable ways. I finished the book smiling.
It is deceptively well written. What seems to be effortless storytelling is actually so cleverly woven together with clues dropped unobtrusively throughout. The characters are really engaging and likeable. I thoroughly recommend this read.
