Madame Burova is an absolute gem of a book, one that I couldn't put down and thoroughly loved reading.

I've enjoyed all of Ruth Hogan's books, but this is by far my favourite of hers to date.

In typical Hogan fashion, this is an uplifting tale, which provides plenty of back story of it's characters, as we discover their histories and links along the way.

I loved the imagery of Madame Burova, as the fortune telling booth and holiday park all brought to mind memories of summers past and walking along piers and proms where the fortune tellers worked.

This was a fairly quick read, but mostly I think because I didn't want to put it down. I wanted to find out about Billie's past and how the story connected and I wasn't disappointed.

This is a tale in which you can lose yourself for a while, as you are transported to a different time and place. Perfect lockdown reading.
