I absolutely loved this book. I wasn't really sure what to expect when I started, but it turned into a simple but heartwarming story.

It was set in 1973 and the modern day and shows how events can actually mould your future.

Madame (Imelda) Burova was a fortune teller in Brighton, who along with other entertainers worked at Larkins holiday camp in the 1970s. In the modern day she is still working in Brighton.

However, as a fortune teller, she is also the keeper of secrets which left her in an awkward position when Billie shows up after discovering she had been adopted and wanted to find out who her birth parents were.

Although the twist was not entirely unexpected it didn't matter, because the characters were real people, and real people often do predictable things.

I will definitely be looking out for more by this author as sometimes realistic, heart warming fiction is just what you need.
