I was lucky enough to receive a preview edition of this book to read and review, and wow it was good.

I will start by justifying why I gave the book 4 stars instead of 5, toward the beginning of the book there are a few words which have spaces in the middle of them. Then in the last chapter a dog character is referred to as Star instead of Sparrow, slight errors like that bother me as I was confused by the reference to Star and had to go back and figure out who Star was. So that aside the book is really very good. Its fast paced, tragic, funny and quite heart warming.

Madame Burova is the story of Imelda Burova & Billie. The book has 2 timelines one in 1973 and the other is now. The story brings the two lead characters together and we are taken on a journey into Imeldas memories to help Billie establish her parentage.

Love, loss & mystery are the central themes of this book, but there are flashes that dead with racism & womens rights.

I would recommend this book to anybody who enjoys a bit of romance, anyone with a curiosity in the spiritual arts or anyone who enjoys a light read.
