Such a multi layered tale spanning nearly fifty years this was a charming, whimsical story and a pure joy to read, so much so I couldn't put it down.
Ruth Hogan is a wonderful author, I adore her characters and love the fact that they all have secrets, quirks of character and flaws or just a little eccentric, these qualities endeared them to me as a reader as I am naturally drawn to the kind of people she creates.
