Uncomfortable reading, yet I couldn't put it down.

Judith is a young woman, wanting a successful career in art dealing, however she's found herself in what looks to be a in a dead-end position as an assistant at a London auction house. To make a bit of extra cash (in order to be able to keep up with the Jones' in the art world) she begins moonlighting as a hostess at exclusive bar in London's West End.

Soon after, she is fired from the auction house for questioning the authenticity of a piece of art they are about to sell. On a downward spiral, she manipulates one of her 'clients' at the bar into believing that she loves him and convinces him that after losing her job she could do with a break away (but oh she has no money, how will she afford to live, boohoo). He invites her on holiday with him and offers her £3000 for her company! To Judith this sounds like easy money but what she doesn't realise is that this is a trip that will change her life forever and she will soon find herself on the run!

I must admit that I purchased this book based on the cover alone. I'm not sure whether I am glad I did or not!! I've got mixed feelings on this one. One one hand, I couldn't put the book down - I was totally gripped, but on the other hand I found it really uncomfortable reading and at times HATED the main character! However, I have already checked number 2 in the series out of the library so it can't have been that bad!
