Imagine a world where calling someone 'stupid' is not just rude - it's illegal! In this thought-provoking and gripping dystopian novel, Lionel Shriver explores a society where intelligence is the ultimate currency and discrimination based on intellect is the new battleground for civil rights.

As exams and grades are thrown out the window and smartphones are rebranded, childhood friends Pearson and Emory find themselves on opposite sides of a cultural revolution that threatens to tear them apart. With sharp wit and biting social commentary, Shriver paints a picture of a world where questioning the status quo could cost you everything. "Mania" promises to be a rollercoaster of a read, blending humor, drama, and a chillingly believable vision of a future where intelligence is a dangerous commodity.

I really want to carry on reading this some more because I like dystopians from the extreme to the not so. Free thought is so underrated.
