This was certainly an interesting read! I am not usually a fan of this kind of fiction but the cover caught my eye and, after reading the synopsis and the first look on the Readers First website, the premise of the story sounded very intriguing. I was excited to have won the chance to read an advanced copy and immediately started it when it arrived. However, it did take me a little while to get into the plot and feel a connection to the main character as a whole. I understood their point of view and their thoughts on this new world where everyone is seen as having the same level of intelligence (a brilliant concept), but I wasn't feeling that "click" with the character as a whole. That did grow as the book progressed and I got to know her more. It truly is a fascinating subject, thinking about how the policing of opinions and that air of control could take over. Not necessarily in this capacity or with this topic but it certainly feels possible when it comes to certain aspects of life and how people are voicing things in today's society. It's not my usual choice of book but it's definitely worth a read for the concept behind it.
