I must admit that when Readers First sent me a copy of this book I was confused about the title of the book because my copy had `Don`t call me Stupid' on the front of it instead of `Mania'. It did show a picture of `Mania' on the back and to begin with I thought this might be a sequel to the book that I had been sent.
Anyway, I did get into the story soon after starting to read it. The story begins in 2011, but this was not the same 2011 that we all lived through. In this alternative 2011 the characters in the book have been through some sort of revolution and are now being told how to live by the Mental Parity Movement. Under this regime every living person has to be treated as though they are all of the same intelligence.
The main character in the story is a woman named Pearson who strongly opposes this ruling. The story tells how living under the Mental Parity Movement affects the lives and relationships between Pearson and her family and friends.
