Not a stupid read...

Well if ever there was a book for our times, this might just be it...

Set in an alternative (but parallel) timeline, Mental Parity has become the norm. Words such as 'stupid' and 'dumb' are pretty much outlawed, with intelligence no longer being viewed on a scale. Everybody is the same, anybody can hold any job (no qualifications needed), and being smart can cause you all kinds of trouble.

I really enjoyed this somewhat dystopian (but scarily believable at times) view of the world gone mad! It really made me think about what we class as intelligence, and how we view both ourselves and others. Whilst the idea of everybody being the same may be nice in theory, as with this book - the practicalities prove this cannot be the case. Would you want to be operated on my somebody who didn't pass their medical degree, or be flown on holiday by a pilot who flunked his pilots training? I'm guessing, probably not! Definitely worth a read.
