I was lucky enough to receive a copy of this book and it was the most fascinating thing I’ve experienced in a while. I didn’t know where it was going to take me but I found myself compelled to continue really.

The book takes place in the future where a Mental Parity Movement has taken hold of society. The worst thing you could possibly do is call someone stupid.

Everyone is equal. Everyone is clever. Discrimination based on intelligence alone is the last great civil rights right. It makes for complicated reading in all honesty.

Life as we know us is diminished. Exams and grades are gone, children are expelled for saying ‘stupid’ and they are also reporting parents for using it. You can just be a doctor based on no qualifications. It makes for quite strange reading to be fair!

Best friends Pearson and Emory find themselves on opposing sides of this new culture war. As a result, their friendship fractures and they seem increasingly at war with one another. Will their friendship stand the test? Or will they end up going their separate ways?
