A very unique take on what would happen if the world went mad (again) and you were no longer able to have the freedom of speech.

Pearson and Emory are childhood friends. Pearson left her family Jehovah witness family and moved into Emory's house. They are best friends, going through life together, through thick and thin. Pearson doesn't want to chance the gene pool by having children with just anybody so she buys the perfect sperm for perfectly intellectual kids. She has a boy and a girl and brings them up on her own. Enter Wade, a loving guy who wants children of his own. Together they have Lucy. Meanwhile Emory is forging a career in the radio industry.

2010 happens and the Mental Parity movement is created. It is now no longer acceptable to call people stupid, to categorise people into boxes of clever and dim. Everyone is the same, there is no more grades of intellect. Emory is onboard with this, the fear of going to jail enough of a motivation to be good. Pearson is the opposite. A lecturer at a university, she finds it very difficult to tow the line.

The story started off well, but halfway through I was bored. Also the way it is written feels like it is too clever for me!
