a sweet story for kids of today
i am definitely out of the recommended target age for this book, so i’ll review from the stance of what i think kids nowadays would enjoy.
it was overall a pretty sweet story! such a perfect way of putting these past few years into words, and providing appropriate material for the children that actually experienced it.
the main character- max- is definitely reminiscent of many young people i can identify within my own life: i appreciated the reality of the narrative but also the twists that kept it engaging (definitely from the perspective of a younger reader, i would imagine).
the cover is typical of the genre, and i really like the charity aspect of the release. paying homage to our country’s brilliant NHS is definitely of paramount importance around these times.
overall, i will definitely be passing this on to younger readers for them to enjoy
