Absolutely brilliant book, very well written and so relatable to so many of us. Max is an eight nearly nine year old boy at the start of the pandemic and we all know how hard it is to keep children that age entertained for long the pandemic made it so much harder with not been able to go out and about during the first lockdown, max tries to make his own entertainment most of the time but when your an only child and both parents works I imagine it’s a lot worse. Max is upset that his dad can’t come home (he’s a doctor) and among other things he is finding it hard. One day he and his mum have a disagreement and she tells him to go to his room and count to a hundred (it’s a thing they do to help him calm down) but max replies that he going to count to a million and do the story starts, this is a really good book for almost any age ( my teenager is now reading it too) brilliantly written
