First of all I have to be really honest and say that whenever a book comes along published by Nosy Crow, you know it’s going to be a good one. They’re a great publisher so I was chuffed to get a copy of this book.
Perfect for children of all ages, this book tells the story of Max. I found this fictional character really wonderful actually and the narrator was spot on. We find out all about him and his family, taking inspiration from the events of the global pandemic.
What I really liked was that this book can be read in years to come to show what it was like during this historical period and to show the next generation the sorts of things people faced. I think it’s also really special coming from a child narration so I think that gives it an interesting edge.
All in all, this is an enjoyable and heartfelt book by a great writer and a good publishing house.
