What a brilliant book this is.
It is narrated by the main character Max, who at the start of the book is eight but he celebrates his nineth birthday during the book.
Set in 2020, the book shows what it felt like to be a child in the UK at the start of the pandemic and lockdown.
Max is a naturally, funny character so there is a lot of humour in the book. We also get an insight into how it was for families who had at least one key worker in the household because Max's Dad is a doctor at a local hospital.
Even though this is a children's book, I really enjoyed it and it didn't take very long to read. I think it will definitely appeal to children and they will probably enjoy the story too.
This is a lovely, heartwarming book which really lifted my spirits so would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a quick, lighthearted, feelgood story to read.
I am going to pass the book onto my next door neighbour who has 3 children as I think they will love this book too!
