Initially I wasn't too sure if i'd like this book on reading the blurb but I must admit this was a really fun read, and I haven't read a book like this in a while... made me feel like a kid again! It threw me back into the beginning of the pandemic during the first major lockdown, and it was funny reading about how everything in life changed from being normal to panicky so suddenly. This included the home-schooling, to being trapped at home, fears of catching this unknown virus, and adding on many new words into our vocabulary like 'quarantine'.
I loved Max's character, and my 10-year old sister could also relate to Max, especially with the impacts on school life from covid-19. Although this is from the point of view of a child, I think anybody could relate to this story including adults. The author also did an amazing job at covering all the major events the nation went through during 2020.
