I read this book to young nephews of 4 and 6 to hear what they thought of it, they both loved it so a real success.
This story is about a boy called Max and is set during the pandemic and first lockdown though Max.
It made me realise that by trying to shield young minds away and stop them from worrying about it made them worry more but Max felt that he shouldn't tell his parents he was worried as children weren't allowed to worry.
Max’s mother as a nutritionist and his father an ENT DR so still got called to work and felt it wasn't safe for Max and his mum he stayed at home so he decided to live in a hotel until it was safe to go home, during this time Max and his mum fell out a few times, one time he was sent out of the room and told to go and Count, Max was annoyed and when he said he could stop he just went on counting and that is where his idea of counting to a Million came from. This resonates with my 6 year old nephew as he just loves to keep counting too!
