This is the story of 8 year old Max who begins to struggle when his dad, who is a doctor, moves into a hotel to protect Max and his mum from getting COVID.
This story begins at the very start of the pandemic and we are with Max as he learns what a virus is, what a pandemic is and goes through lockdown.
Max is trying not to worry his parents by not letting them see that he is worried but this means one day he becomes frustrated and when his mum tells him to go to his room and count to a 100 before coming back down, he decides to count to a million!
We then follow Max through this journey counting to a million. His count down helps him with he misses his dad, his birthday is cancelled and his grandad becomes poorly. He starts his countdown for himself and finishes it to uplift the people around him.
