Although this is a children’s book (and I don’t have any children) I still delighted in reading this fun, heart warming story. It’s interesting reading books about the pandemic as we are still living through it, and even more interesting to read about it from a child’s point of view.
I loved Max, and how he tried to make the most of the situation of being locked down, with no school to go to, no friends to see, and not really being able to go outside.
How adorable that after an argument with his mum, Max decides to count to one million, and this project turns into something huge! He even tries to get into the Guinness Book of World Records (one of my dreams when I was a child!).
This is a delightful read no matter what age – unleash your inner child and see the pandemic through the eyes of Max. If you have children it might help you to understand how they felt too
