Here is a lovely story, set in London featuring a young boy named Max. He lives with his mum, dad, siblings and a dog. Max is not fond of going to school because the bullies ruin everything there and many of the children are very intimidated by these bullies. Not only are there bullies at school, but there is a very nasty boy named Bottley who picks on Max outside school too.
Max`s dad owns a toy stall in Petticoat Lane market and sometimes Max helps him after school and at weekends. The market has come in for some bullying too from the local gangsters. These nasty men are known as the Crayfish Twins and they try to take money from the traders as `protection' money.
After an incident between Max and Bottley one of the nasty Crayfish Twins gets their expensive suit ruined. They try to bully Max`s father into paying for it plus other money on top of that. Max wishes he could get rid of bullies altogether.
A way to stick up to these people comes about by chance when Max opens an old chest in his grannies antique shop. The answer to their problems is found as if by Magic.
