I read this book and absolutely loved it. I do appreciate that I’m definitely not the target audience for the book but my young niece read it alongside me and really enjoyed it.
Max Magic is a great character and really relatable to so many young people. He’s from a household without much spare money, there’s bullying on his radar and he has an internal struggle on how to achieve his best. Mix in a huge dollop of magic, a quirky gran and a talking dog and you have the makings for a really entertaining and engaging story guaranteed to leave you entertained. Max has a small group of friends around him that are supportive and genuine. The book really showcases what can happen if you surround yourself with good people and always try your best to do good; a message that’s great to give to kids and adults alike. I’m excited to see what’s next for Max.
