Thought this book was good, I could even imagine Stephen mulhern reading it aloud. I liked how the image of max looked liked the author and the story was easy to understand and how it showed what school and home life is like for children now a days.
I loved how the theme of magic stayed throughout the story and also how reality won over in managing the situation.
The themes running through the book are what most people deal with every day in some form- bullying, self esteem, employment, education, family and love. This book will be a good one for school children to read especially in regards a dream they may have for the future and encouragement to keep pushing helps get people on in life and how support and love of family and friends will win out in the end, it also shows what true friendship means to people and how this is something all children should experience
