This book was good, not fantastically written, you know the writer is not an author, it's a bit clunky and clumsy language wise and a bit repetitive at times too. It is however a good story about a young boy max Muller's who loves magic and wants to be an amazing magician one day, his dad teaches him a lot of tricks which he masters anywhere between six hours and six weeks. He even uses his magic tricks to help him with his school bully, but that's only going to help so much until the bully uses the magic trick to his own advantage to steal Max's money! The magic tricks that go wrong however and generally cause chaos within the Muller's household do provide quite a bit of laugh out loud moments. All in all not a bad book from Steven mulhern for a first attempt. Not the best not on par with say Francesca Simon's horrid Henry books, but I would recommend this book all the same.
