I read this book in one sitting with one target audience in mind: children. I found it a really engaging book, with a decent plot, if not slightly predictive of that genre.

You have a child who seems to be a bit magical. There’s a typical bully making that child’s life miserable. This is mirrored by decent, hard working parents being bullied by two group up crooks. By the end of the book, harmony is restored and the world is right once again.

Overall, there premise is simple and effective. Children always want to read a book where the good guys win and the bad guys lose. I think it’s well written and is engaging to read.

In terms of children, I can see them enjoying it. The cover is attractive, the illustrations likewise and I think the magic tricks at the end are a really lovely touch.

Overall, it gives children a voice and I think it will be received really well.
