My nephew loves this book, it was relatable for him, and he really enjoyed it as a bedtime story, we read a chapter every night before bed. The writing style was on his level (he is 6 years old) and it was a lovely thing to share as I went round to his house to do bedtime once a week. Everytime he sees me now he asks if I'm staying to read him stories, so it has been really lovely to see how this book has captured his imagination and made him want to read more. The characters were believable to him and the first person storytelling really helped to draw him in as he felt like the main character Max was talking just to him. The storyline was everything you would want in a kids book, relatable enough for them to imagine themselves in it, with just the right amount of imagination thrown in for them to feel a bit of escapism and to engage their own imaginations.
