Considering this is a childrens book I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, my daughter is now reading it and thinks it’s great. An easy read for a young teenager. Max is a young lad who really likes magic, from a young age his father showed him so basic magic tricks and from then on max was hooked and he is always trying and learning new tricks, he practices them in front on his family on a Sunday and then on his friends after school. To earn a bit of money he helps his dad out on his market stall after school while his dad gets his dinner. Then goes on to his grand shop to pick up there fog lucky and he lives this part of the day when he gets to talk to his gran (and have what ever she’s baked that day). Max has a problem with a certain boy at school and try’s so hard to avoid him, and then there’s the crayfish twins on the market, one day max opens a chest in his grans shop and his life and magic skills take on a whole new level.
