Max Magic is stephen mulherns first book and what a first book it is. I loved it from the start i could not put it down and devoured it in one day.
Max loves doing magic tricks and is a born performer, one days he wants to be the greastest magician in the world. Before this he needs to work out how to get the school bully bottley of his back. He also needs to help save his dads market stall from some more bully’s the crayfish twins.
Just when he begins to lose hope of beating then he opens a chest that will change his future forever. It is a magic chest and it opens a whole new world of magic up for max and gives him the strength to stand up to the bully’s. First however he needs his friends help to try and learn how to control the magic.
This story is great for older children and shows them that you shouldn’t give up on your dreams. I also thought all the illustrations where fantastic and finished the book of nicely.
