Great start with a strong, conscientious lead female

It already feels like a trilogy worth story. Really intriguing with the amount of questions left to be answered. Who knows the truth, does her dad know the true story? And at the same time, the reader is drawn to feel for Fern, but knowing well enough, that she is a force to be reckoned with.
