Wasn't too sure about the opening section in the alternate reality, too many weird names that don't make any sense as they aren't explained, yet. Decent bit of pace to it though.
Then it jumps to some time later and the child of the woman who was being chased and dies in the opener. The child finds out her mother was murdered rather than dying in her sleep, but an she believe the unknown person telling her this, especially when they say they were the one that did it.
It intrigues me enough to want to follow it more, i like the London setting, especially the Tower of London as it is one of my favourite places in London. I hope it features more in the book later and wasn't just in the opener.
