The front cover is appealing, and the write up is catchy. However I found the prologue confusing and it was not until chapter one that the book became interesting as it became easier to follow the narrative and begin to understand what was happening. It certainly seems like a book that will be intriguing and readable as Fern tries to uncover her mother's murder and understand her own life. Fern is beautifully written flawed teenager with all the angst of her age visible.
