I can't decide if I enjoyed this or not. The whole premise of your dreams being a secret world that really exists reminded me too much of Dark City and I couldn't take the prologue seriously or become invested in it because my brain was recalling Mr Boots.
Fortunately, things pick up when the book starts properly and it did start to interest me. To a point. I just feel like it's been done before and couldn't really get invested in the main character - Fern? Or was that her mother?
My impression is that this will either be really great or desperately mediocre.
