Thank you at Readers First for providing me with the opportunity to read the e-arc for Midnight's Twins by Holly Races. This is the 1st instalment of a fabulous fantasy debut, a story that transports you to Annwn, a world where dreams and nightmares are born.

Fern and her twin brother Ollie were 15 when Fern discovers her mother's secret, but her brother is chosen above her to become a Knight of Annwn.
This is the dream-world that mirrors reality when everyone goes to sleep, a world full of magic and adventure, but danger and nightmares too. The role of a Knight of Annwn is to protect the dreamers, whilst facing their own peril within Annwn.

Whilst not chosen to be a Knight, Fern shares a gift with her twin and as Annwn's dangers cross into Fern's waking life she must step up to fight an enemy more powerful and more threatening than any nightmare.

The Treitre, whom we are introduced to in prologue is not Fern's only enemy, she must also face the complex and terrible family rift that has destroyed her relationship with her twin brother.

The world-building is graphical and well-illustrated and it makes you want to discover more about inspyre and how these dreams and nightmares are made in this magical world. But, what is Annwn?

Fern's internet search on Annwn provides a link to "The Truth About Your Nightmares", which when clicked on brings up a woman who says "Do you think you’re safe when you are asleep? Well think again." Yes, part of this book does make you a little unnerved about just how safe you will be when you go to sleep, but the story is so compelling, you don't want to put it down to go to sleep!

This is a story of magic, mystery, dreams, nightmares, friendship, betrayal and love and for all of these and many more reasons, I recommend you give it a go.
