This book was very good! From page 1 the fantasy grabs you and forces you to keep those pages turning. The world is unique, fast paced and full of an urban fantasy magic that we can all love. A fantastic start to what I have heard might possibly grow into a fully-fledged best-selling trilogy staple for our shelves. Great read for all YA readers!
The character development of both twins throughout the book is brilliant. Fern, being an outsider, bullied and feeling the loss of her family is strong independent in her own right and an all round great character to follow. And her brother being considered the complete opposite, popular, good-looking, and part of the group that bullies Fern, has a whole different side to the story, some of which I really appreciated. So often in fantasy books we see siblings fighting together right from the start so this was a refreshing tale.
