I'm a huge fan of fantasy, especially urban fantasy and anything to do with magic- it's my favourite genre by far. So when I saw the title and the cover, I had to read it. I love the artwork on the cover, it's really eye catching, and striking, and the title just got my really interested. It sounded dark and magical, which peaked my interest a lot.
I like how magic plays a key role from the start, it really sets the scene and starts the story up well. The entire thing is incredibly engaging, the style of the writing and the story itself just made me want to keep reading, and never put it down.
I really love the main character, she's very well described, as is everything in this book, the settings especially, I felt like I was part of the world.
I absolutely will reread this and would recommend it to any fantasy lover, or even those who aren't particularly into fantasy, I would still recommend.
