I was super excited to read this book as urban fantasy is a genre that never ceases to amaze me. With that being said though, this book fell a little flat for me. A lot of things written about seemed a little irrelevant to the story and the development of the characters, while other parts felt at times unexplained and as though they should have been expanded upon. The first half of the book was moderately fun to read, although after that and right up to the end I mostly lost interest and it took me longer than it probably should have to finish the book.
Some parts felt a little childish to me, though this is probably more to do with my tastes in fiction and the fact that my age group isn't the target audience of the book than the writing itself. Overall, I would likely recommend this to some of my younger relatives, though I didn't enjoy this book myself.
