Unfortunately this didn’t do it for me. I need to be invested in the story and connect to the characters in some way but this felt one dimensional and didn’t draw me in at all. The main character didn’t make me care about her story and the way she reacted didn’t really seem believable.
I had high hopes for this because it sounded like exactly the sort of thing I’d enjoy, but it wasn’t what I was hoping for and nothing made me want to read any further. I’m not sure why I had no response or relation to the story. The whole thing just felt flat and there was no excitement. Nothing to look forward to because the world didn’t have the magic I was expecting of it.
On the plus side, it does have a really pretty cover, so that’s a positive?
