The world building at the start is amazing, there’s only a couple of page with Una’s perspective but I feel like I’m there with her. I also love have she is also a relatable character who can’t quite let go of her path.
I also really liked Fern I mean first of all she’s called Fern and secondly I really hate when after something bad happens (in this case the mum dying) they didn’t just have it as a thing to write about but in this book they made it part of the story like how the family after her death is really dysfunctional and has issues and Ferns perspective of her mum since she’s never met her.

Why was Uma running away
Why was it the 15 birthday that she was allowed to tell her children about the other worlds ?
Why did she leave the guards?
Why was she murdered ?
Why were the vultures killing people?
Does the dad know who the mum really was?
