The fantastical world in this story draws you in immediately. You want to let it absorb you completely. The earth is familiar yet different enough to remain intriguing it’s great. The characters jump to life from the words on the page brilliantly. I found myself feeling quite connected towards them and genuinely caring for their welfare. From first page to last I was greatly invested, a wonderful addition to my ever evolving and expanding experiences of a relatively new genre to me. Until recently I had always struggled with fantasy but have found as I have gotten older my reading tastes have changed to include more that I would have previously overlooked. I’m gladly surprised by how much I enjoyed reading this fast paced adventure.
