This book defiantly couldn't be considered a light read, then again any book covering events such as the atrocities that occurred during the war shouldn't be written lightly and should be filled with such emotion that it truly conveys the horrors so many experienced. The events portrayed in this excerpt are well described, and the author writes with a somewhat poetic writing style, which brings texture and colour into the story, however the raw truth does not hide behind this poetry instead it only serves to make the horrors stand out. This excerpt shapes the book up to be filled with tragedy, honesty, and hope. This will truly be a thought provoking read.
