In recent months I have been fortunate to read a number of books based in and around both the Auschwitz camp and surrounding area.
This is the first one which has taken as its viewpoint the group of twin youngsters who were the subject of great phsycological and physiological testing at the hands of Mengele.

Centering around sisters, Stacha & Pearl; we are introduced to them as they enter the camp and we are aware of their close bond. As the story progresses we will surely find this bond being pulled apart by their brutal treatment.

According to the book blurb; Pearl's sudden disappearance leaves Stasha distraught and wanting to trust in her belief that her sister is still alive somewhere, whilst the subsequent liberation of the camp sends her; along with her friend Feliks; on a gruelling and arduous journey to search for her missing half.

I fully expect this to be a heart-wrenching tale, but nonetheless am eager to read more.

The eye-catching cover is alsocertainly something I would pick up for a closer look.
