It surprises me. I don't read huge amounts of historical fiction, yet in just a few sentences, I can sink into the world of the Buckingham Hotel, and am completely ready to spend the next few weeks between the glamour of the ballroom, and the very real world of the 1930s outside. I like the set-up - I'm intrigued by Vivienne's situation and determination, and am interested to see how she makes her own way in the world. And, as with the first book, the cover and design of the book are beautiful.

A book I'm very much looking forward to reading, whether through ReadersFirst or once it's published.
