This book takes us back to the same characters and scene as his previous book and starts with a cliffhanger concerning Raymond de Guise rushing back into a fire in the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel. We then go back in time 8 months and see the events which led up to this momentous night. It is well written and full of the charm and elegance of the 1930's. A good read.
