After seeing a lot of Anton Du Beke on SCD, I was keen to read his book to see if it delivered the same flair and frivolity. However, I was a little disappointed as I found it to have quite a slow start and not very gripping. Nothing much seemed to happen and I struggled to keep going
The setting is of a scrumptious sounding hotel with a lot of socialites and guests in dazzling costumes
The characters did develop nicely during the book but I did not feel any particular bond or interest to learn any further
However, this is not my usual first choice of book but I did want to try something a little different
Perhaps would be good for easy summer reading or those who are fans of Downton Abbey
