I really enjoyed the first book in this series so I really wanted to catch up with the characters and see what happened to them. I had high expectations and I am happy to say that I wasn't disappointed. The book is set in a luxurious hotel in the run up to the second world war and we follow characters both above and below stairs. We catch up with many of the characters from the first book and there are some new ones as well. Nancy and Vivienne were two of the most interesting characters from the first book and I loved exploring their stories further especially Vivienne as she is a very complex character and the reader feels sympathy for her even though she is spoiled. There were lots of twists and turns and misunderstanding and the romance was good. This was an enjoyable read.
