This is another fabulous read from Anton Due Beke. I really enjoyed his first book, and was thrilled when this not only carried on with the story, but also grew and developed some of the other characters from that book. Thanks to Readers First for sending me an advanced copy.
There was again a good sense of pace, and the storylines flowed well. There is a good feel of historical period details, which add to the sense of drawing you in which this book does so well. It was a joy to read.
I particularly enjoyed the relationship between Maynard Charles and Aubrey, it was very tender and beautifully written.
I shall look forward to further installments of the Buckingham Saga coming out. Well done to Anton, another winner.
