I was lucky enough to read an advanced copy of the first book in this series (One Enchanted Evening) when it first came out, and I was instantly impressed by Anton's writing. It was just as stylish as the man himself, and his characters were absolutely lovely. You couldn't help but be drawn in.. So I was very happy when I read that the second book was due to be released, and even happier when I received my copy.
The hardback edition of this book is simply gorgeous! The cover art is so pretty, and the book itself underneath the dust jacket is lovely too, especially the art deco style endpapers.
As for the story itself, it was great to dip back into the world that Anton created, and revisit characters that I had grown so fond of. This book focuses it's attention on different characters to the first book, but there are still lots of familiar faces around, and it was nice to find out what had happened to some of them. A lovely read - I'll be looking forward to the third and final book of the series.
